The CHARACTER drop-down is at the top left of the grid page, right next to the NAVIGATION button. Pages in this menu refer to your character, specifically.
The Battle Tactics section allows you to set tactics for how your character engages both Non Player Characters (NPCs) and Player Characters in battle. Different types of enemy require different tactics, so do adjust your settings according to the enemy you're about to engage.
CS stands for Character Sheet. This is where the most crucial details about your character are listed. Across the top and over on the left side will be an area for a banner and avatar of your character. These can be added via the Settings page (see below).
The CS displays your character's name, their path (without a banner, the symbol of each path will be displayed in the corner), race (vampire or human), generation, gender, and whether they are an RP character or just a gaming account (which you can alter via Settings as well). Also listed are the character's lineage (their sire), their childer, bloodline, stats (or attributes), skills, powers, experience, alignment, and a link to their Wounds page.
Underneath this is a Bio. section. This can also be edited from Settings, and here you can write a description of your character, their history, appearance, information for potential childer or anything you feel is relevant for your character. The information here is OOC as a rule - if you find someone took that information IC without your permission, you should report them to a moderator via the Forum.
Most HTML codes work for the CS, and you can add anything from images to tables to a background to a playlist.
What you see differs from what others will be able to see. While you can see everything that is available to you, another player accessing your character sheet will only see the bio, name, race, gender, RPer or Gamer status, and Ancestry (sire and childer). They will not be able to see your Experience, Stats, Skill nor Powers unless they have the power Appraisal.
The Alignment chart appears on the Character Sheet - it is not influenced by Settings, but by character actions on the grid. It has four directions: Kind - Cruel and Lawful - Criminal. A red x marks where the character's alignment is, and it slides according to character behaviour.
You are the only one who will ever be able to see your character's Alignment. Even characters with Appraisal won't be able to see it.

- Using powers to help allies
- Talking your way out of a fight instead of using violence
- Selling an item (via auction) at less or equal of its value price tag (selling an item for $1 increases this further)
- Hitting people with high bounties
- Feeding on rats or bunnies instead of humans
The purpose of this feature won't come until later. For now it's purely for fun. Eventually it MIGHT be used to determine your reputation, and would cause random NPCs to approach you, asking for help, such as a criminal if you have a rep as a criminal.

Aside from accessing the powers page through the drop-down, you will find your powers listed in the CS, and they can also be accessed through the (spend) link on the grid, next to the listing of your PXP.
When you select this option, the image to the right is what will come up. The dots in this image are marked red for bought powers. On your beginning screen you will see all white dots indicating you have not gotten any powers yet.
The way to get powers is to build up Power Experience Points (PXP) until you have fulfilled the requirements for the power you would like. There are several different kinds of powers. There are Constant Powers which are automatic and used on self. Battle Powers are also automatic and only work on NPCs. Grid powers are ones that you can cast on you or others. These can be healing, defense, summoning and or grid affected powers depending on your path. Last but not least are Skirmish powers, which are purely attack powers to be used on other characters.
You can view what powers you have, which you can use and which are constant by clicking the Activate powers link on the grid, visible on the left side, above More commands.
Each row of powers allows you to, when completed, bridge to either side, and gain more powers. In order to access Mastery powers, you need to have all the powers of your respective path.
You can view the cost of powers by hovering your mouse over the dots, as well as a description of what the power does. The prices for ones path powers are: 2 PXP, 4 PXP, 7 PXP, 10 PXP and 15 PXP on each of the two rows, totalling at 38 PXP per row, and 76 PXP in total. The cost for bridge powers are 16 PXP, 20 PX, 24 PXP, 20 PXP and 16 PXP, totalling at 96 PXP.
Once you have 6 of the powers on a bridge, you will have the ability to gain access to the powers of the Path that is on the other side. However, the cost of the powers here will be double those on your own path. It is therefore, in theory, possible for someone to get the powers from every bridge and every path, but the cost is designed in such a way as to take roughly 10 years.
The exception are Mastery powers, which can be gained at a substantially higher cost outside of a vampire's starting path.
Brings you to the RP Dice Roller, useful for determining the outcome of RP actions, and adding a sense of variability/realism to roleplay threads.
Here you can exchange all RPP you have earned for either experience points or cash.
RPP stands for "roleplay points". You can earn roleplay points by posting forum roleplay on one of the main boards. You can also gain RPP from posting live chat roleplay transcripts onto these forums, but you should get permission from other roleplayers involved. 1 RPP is equivalent to 1 word of forum roleplay.
No energy will be taken for the first 500 RPP you exchange each day. After that 500, you will need to spend energy to cash in your RPP. This allows you to level up as fast as other characters purely by posting roleplay, without needing to move your character in game, if you wish.
Gaining "roleplay levels" will give you much better exchange rates (for exp or cash). You can gain these levels simply by roleplaying lots and exchanging RPP as often as possible. It should be noted that RPPEXP and grid EXP are not the same thing. RPPEXP and RP Levels increase at their own rate, separate from normal grid levels.

More information about the alert log can be found on the Alerts page. In brief, the alert log can be used to see what actions have been done to your character, or what actions your character may have done. Vampires with the Read Memories power can see a modified version of your character's alert log.
This section is compromised of the list of businesses that are owned by players. It also allows you to create your own business and get a feel for the competition that your business might have.
Clicking this allows you to be able to view all factions currently in a game. Clicking on individual faction names brings up a screen that gives more detailed information about that faction along with a button that enables you to apply for membership. The faction listing has a drop down menu located in the upper right hand corner that allows for filtering by faction type, these types include the following:
The Property page allows you to select any property you own and get an overview of who you've given entry too and what you have stored there.
The Territory page shows a small map of Harper Rock, with territories marked in different colors or patterns, including the sewers. Each territory is claimed either by an NPC or PC faction, with icons on the map to designate what group owns what territory. A brief summary of current ownership can be found on the far right alongside the map. On the left side of the map, for faction owners, is an 'Invade a Territory' prompt box which allows one to select a faction and territory. Once intention to invade has been made each side of the resulting conflict will be given a randomly selected time to battle. Underneath the map is a summary of the history of territorial conquests and losses.
In this game, relationships in character can mean a lot to your character. Whether it be a friend you make along the way, or an enemy who hunts you down, these relationships can not only be role played on the forum, but added in city on this section of your character sheet. Allies are obviously close friends who you trust.
Be very careful who you put on this list, as they will have the power to summon you to them once you have them listed. However should a character who was a friend, turn out to be an enemy, you will be able to get them off your list by simply clicking the red X on the right hand side of this list.
The same warning goes for Enemies. For if you have someone listed on your enemy list-depending on whether you have sentry mode on-you will hit them automatically at times. A tip from us to you is to constantly update both of these lists. Whether it be friends or enemies, it is best to make sure it is kept updated so that you do not end up making a mistake your character will regret down the road. Note: Setting your character to one of these modes takes 1 energy per hour.
The relationships page also allows you to build and/or view the members of your current raid team.
When your character is wounded in any way, hit by another character or a power is used on them, the details will be found on the wound page. On a body silhouette model, cuts, slices and bullet wounds will graphically appear. Broken bones and powers are not represented, but all wounds that affect your character's stats negatively will be listed next to the silhouette, on the right side. The type of wound, its effect on your stats, who gave it and how long it lasts will all be written there.
Aside from your own character's wounds, it is also possible to see the wounds of other characters if you are in the same square as them. You can access someone else's wounds this way via their Character sheet (which you access by clicking on their name). Similarly, you can also access your own character's wound page via your Character Sheet.
The classical white silhouette can be replaced with a custom image more suited for your character. On the wounds page, there is an option to download a template file that would allow you to create your own (the programs you would need are Photoshop, or Paint.net; the latter is free to download online, but you could also find a beta version of Photoshop called White Rabbit). Because the wounds will have to align properly on the new body model, it might be daunting to find appropriate pictures to use. If you want a personalized wound image but can not make one yourself, don't be afraid to ask others for help.
